LumaApps ("LumaApps," "we," "us," or "our") develops and publishes mobile applications for Android, including productivity, document, PDF, OCR, transcription, translation, creative, resume, and utility applications (collectively, the "Apps").
This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you download or use our Apps.
1. Information We Collect and Process
Our Apps are designed to provide their functionality while keeping user-created content on the user's device whenever the relevant feature supports local processing.
Depending on the particular App and the features you use, this may include:
- Photos and images
- Scanned documents
- PDF files
- Text extracted from images or documents
- Audio recordings used for transcription
- Text entered into resume or CV templates
- Designs, documents, and other content created within an App
The specific information accessed depends on the App and the features you choose to use.
LumaApps does not require users to create an account or register to use the Apps.
2. Local Processing of User Content
Our Apps may provide features such as OCR, document scanning, PDF processing, PDF reading or editing, audio transcription, translation, and resume creation.
Where stated in the applicable App's functionality, user content is processed locally on the device.
In particular:
- Images used for OCR are processed on the user's device.
- Documents and PDF files used by the Apps are processed on the user's device.
- Audio used for transcription is processed using on-device transcription.
- Information entered into resume or CV templates is used to create the requested resume on the device.
- LumaApps does not upload these user-provided files or content to LumaApps-operated servers for storage or processing.
LumaApps does not operate a server-side service that stores users' photos, PDFs, documents, audio recordings, or resume content.
3. Permissions
Depending on the particular App and features you choose to use, an App may request access to:
- Camera
- Photos or media
- Files or documents
- Microphone
- Screen or display content
These permissions are used to provide the functionality for which they are requested.
For example, an App may use camera or photo access for scanning or OCR, file access for opening or processing documents and PDFs, microphone access for on-device transcription, or screen-related access where required for screen translation functionality.
Users can manage applicable permissions through Android device settings. Refusing a permission may prevent the associated feature from functioning.
4. Resume and CV Information
The Resume Builder / CV Maker App allows users to enter information into resume or CV templates.
This may include information such as:
- Name
- Contact information
- Education
- Employment history
- Skills
- Professional information
- Other information voluntarily entered by the user
This information is used to create or format the resume requested by the user.
LumaApps does not require an account for this functionality and does not maintain a LumaApps user database containing users' resume information.
Users are responsible for deciding what personal information they enter into their resumes and where they subsequently share or export completed resumes.
5. Analytics and Crash Reporting
Depending on the particular App, we may use Google Firebase services, including:
- Firebase Analytics
- Firebase Crashlytics
- Firebase Remote Config
- Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM)
These services may process technical and app-related information to help us understand app usage, diagnose crashes, improve app performance, configure app functionality, and provide notifications where applicable.
Depending on the service, app configuration, device, and applicable settings, information processed may include:
- App usage and interaction information
- App version
- Operating system information
- Device or installation identifiers
- Crash and diagnostic information
- Performance information
- Technical information associated with an app installation
- Information required for notification delivery
The Firebase services used by an individual App may differ.
LumaApps does not use Firebase to upload or store users' personal documents, photos, PDFs, audio recordings, or resume content for LumaApps' own storage or processing.
Firebase services are provided by Google and may process information according to Google's applicable terms and privacy practices.
6. Advertising
Some of our Apps are supported by advertising.
Depending on the particular App, we may use third-party advertising services including:
- Google AdMob
- Unity Ads
- Meta advertising services
Not every App uses every advertising provider.
Advertising providers may process certain technical, device, advertising, and app-related information for purposes such as displaying advertisements, measuring advertising performance, personalizing advertising where permitted, preventing fraud, and improving advertising services.
Depending on the advertising provider, App configuration, device settings, and applicable laws, this information may include categories such as:
- Advertising identifiers
- Device and operating system information
- IP address
- App and advertising interaction information
- Diagnostic information
- General location information or information derived from network or device data
- Information relating to advertisements displayed or interacted with
The specific information processed depends on the advertising provider and the particular App.
LumaApps does not sell users' photos, documents, PDFs, audio recordings, resume information, or other user-created content to advertisers.
7. Advertising Consent and Privacy Choices
Where required by applicable law or Google Play requirements, users may be presented with consent requests or privacy choices relating to advertising and associated data processing.
Advertising behavior may vary based on the user's location, device settings, applicable regulations, consent choices, and the configuration of the particular App.
Users may also manage certain advertising and privacy settings through Android and Google account settings.
8. Firebase Remote Config
Some Apps may use Firebase Remote Config to remotely configure application settings and functionality.
Remote Config may be used for purposes such as controlling application behavior, feature configuration, or advertising-related configuration.
Remote Config does not require LumaApps to upload users' personal documents, photos, PDFs, audio recordings, or resume content to LumaApps servers.
9. Notifications
Some Apps may use Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) to deliver notifications.
FCM may process technical identifiers and information necessary to deliver notifications to an applicable App installation or device.
Users can control notification permissions through Android system settings.
FCM is not used by LumaApps to upload users' private documents, photos, PDFs, audio recordings, or resume content to LumaApps servers.
10. Third-Party Services
Our Apps may use third-party software development kits (SDKs) and services for purposes including:
- Analytics
- Crash reporting
- Remote configuration
- Notifications
- Advertising
- Advertising measurement
- Related app functionality
Third-party services may independently process information in accordance with their own privacy policies and terms.
The third-party services used may differ between Apps.
Examples include Google Firebase, Google AdMob, Unity Ads, and Meta advertising services.
11. Data Storage and Retention
LumaApps does not require users to create accounts for the Apps covered by this Privacy Policy.
LumaApps does not maintain a central user account database containing users' personal documents, photos, PDFs, audio recordings, or resume information.
Where user-created content is processed or stored locally by an App, that content remains subject to the storage and deletion controls available within the App and on the user's Android device.
Technical, analytics, crash-reporting, advertising, notification, and other information processed by third-party service providers may be retained by those providers according to their respective policies and retention practices.
12. Data Security
We take reasonable measures to protect information handled through our Apps and to limit access to information to what is necessary for the relevant functionality.
Because user-created documents, images, PDFs, recordings, and similar content are processed locally where applicable, LumaApps does not maintain those files on its own servers.
Third-party service providers used by our Apps maintain their own security practices and controls.
However, no electronic storage or transmission method can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
13. Account Creation and Deletion
Our Apps covered by this Privacy Policy do not require users to create or register for a LumaApps account.
Because no LumaApps user account is created through these Apps, there is no LumaApps account that a user needs to delete.
Users can delete locally stored App content through the applicable App or Android device controls.
Third-party services used by an App may independently process technical or advertising-related information under their own policies.
14. Children's Privacy
Our Apps are not specifically designed or directed toward children under the age of 13.
We do not knowingly request children to create accounts or provide personal information directly to LumaApps.
If you believe that a child has provided personal information to us in a manner that requires action under applicable law, please contact us using the information below.
15. International Data Processing
Third-party service providers used by our Apps may process information on servers located in countries other than the country in which you reside.
Such processing is subject to the applicable privacy practices, safeguards, and terms of the relevant third-party service provider.
16. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to our Apps, services, technology, legal requirements, or data practices.
When we make changes, we will update the Effective Date shown at the beginning of this Privacy Policy.
We encourage users to periodically review this Privacy Policy.
